We are seeking a Murex DevOps Engineer to support the delivery, automation and operational stability of the MX platform across SaaS, cloud and on-premise environments. This role requires a hands-on technical engineer with experience across CI/CD, environment management, infrastructure automation, monitoring, release support and production reliability .
The successful candidate will work closely with development teams, QA teams, product teams, support teams and client-facing delivery teams , ensuring environments are stable, reproducible, secure and ready for project delivery. The role is suitable for someone with early DevOps experience who can operate in complex technical environments, support releases, troubleshoot issues and contribute to automation-first delivery practices.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in DevOps, CI/CD, platform engineering or environment support , ideally within production or client-facing environments.
- Good understanding of CI/CD pipeline delivery , including build, test, deployment, validation, smoke testing and rollback support.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI or Azure DevOps .
- Strong working knowledge of Git , including branching, tagging, version control practices and artifact management.
- Hands-on scripting experience using Shell, Python or Groovy .
- Good understanding of Linux / Unix environments.
- Exposure to cloud platforms , preferably AWS, with Azure or GCP considered advantageous.
- Experience working with RDBMS databases , such as Oracle, PostgreSQL or similar.
- Knowledge of monitoring, logging,
alerting and observability concepts.
- Exposure to SaaS, distributed architecture, multi-client or multi-environment delivery models would be advantageous.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues across infrastructure, pipelines, databases and application environments.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proactive, team-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement, automation and operational reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support continuous integration, testing and deployment across multiple environments.
- Support pipeline stability, performance and reliability, helping to minimise build failures and delivery delays.
- Implement automated build, packaging and deployment processes.
- Support release cycles, including validation, smoke testing, deployment coordination and rollback planning.
- Maintain version control standards across branching, tagging, artifact management and Git-based delivery workflows.
- Automate environment provisioning, configuration and upgrade activity.
- Build reusable automation components to improve consistency, scalability and repeatability.
- Reduce manual operational activity through scripting and process automation.
- Deploy and manage MX environments across development, testing and production stages.
- Support environment lifecycle activity including provisioning, configuration, upgrades, patching and decommissioning.
- Ensure environments are standardised, reproducible, secure and compliant.
- Support multi-client and multi-environment setups across SaaS and hybrid delivery models.
- Implement and maintain monitoring, logging and alerting across platforms and pipelines.
- Support end-to-end observability of environments, infrastructure and delivery pipelines.
- Perform root cause analysis on incidents and contribute to long-term reliability improvements.
- Support environment data lifecycle activity, including data provisioning, masking, sampling and reduction for non-production environments.
- Assist with database operations such as migration, sanitisation and reconciliation.
- Act as a technical escalation point for environment and platform incidents.
- Troubleshoot technical issues across infrastructure, pipelines, databases and environments.
- Coordinate with support, product, development and QA teams to resolve issues and maintain delivery continuity.
- Maintain documentation, runbooks and knowledge-sharing material to support operational consistency.
- Contribute to DevOps best practices including automation-first delivery, continuous integration, continuous delivery and shift-left testing.
- Identify inefficiencies and propose improvements across internal tooling, documentation, standardisation and delivery processes.
