The SDO Commodity Lead is responsible for ensuring uninterrupted material flow for a designated commodity portfolio by leading supplier risk management, shortage recovery, escalation management, and cross-functional execution.
This role serves as the primary point of contact between suppliers, Purchasing, SQE, Logistics, Engineering, Manufacturing Plants, and Supply Planning to proactively identify risks and drive sustainable solutions that protect production.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn end-to-end supplier delivery performance for assigned commoditiesLead shortage management activities and develop recovery plans to prevent production disruptionsMonitor supplier capacity, inventory, logistics performance, and overall health of supplyConduct risk assessments and **escalate** critical issues through the appropriate governance channelsCoordinate cross-functional recovery actions with Purchasing, SQE, Engineering, Logistics, Manufacturing, and Plant OperationsTrack and communicate supplier recovery plans, milestones, and execution status.Support launch programs, engineering changes, and capacity expansion initiativesAnalyze supplier performance metrics and identify improvement opportunitiesFacilitate executive-level reporting and provide concise risk summaries to leadershipDrive continuous improvement initiatives focused on resiliency, inventory optimization, and supplier performanceSupport supplier audits,
