China Three Gorges Latam is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Mexico City. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant accounting and financial reporting for the company and its subsidiaries. The position plays a key role in strengthening internal controls and supporting strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Core Accounting & Financial Close

- Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities (accruals, depreciation, amortization, payroll accounting, and routine journal entries).
- Maintain, analyze, and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and proper classification.
- Perform timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing procedures.

Financial Reporting

- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for internal management and external stakeholders.
- Ensure consistency, transparency, and compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal policies.
- Support preparation of financial statement notes and management reporting packages.

Internal Control & Compliance

- Establish, document, and enforce internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Identify financial control gaps and support corrective action plans.
- Ensure alignment with group accounting policies and governance standards.

Tax & Audit Support





- Coordinate tax-related activities and collaborate with external tax advisors.
- Support internal and external audit processes, including documentation and follow-up on findings.
- Assist in implementing remediation actions.

Specialized & Ad-hoc Accounting

- Prepare ad-hoc financial analyses, reports, and presentations to support management decision-making.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, and management teams.
- Manage lease accounting under IFRS 16 , including recognition and measurement of lease liabilities and right-of-use assets.

Position Requirements

Education

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field ( required ).

Experience

- 4–6 years of progressive experience in accounting, financial reporting, or related roles ( required ).
- Strong experience in general ledger accounting, month-end and year-end close, and financial statement preparation ( required ).
- Experience with Power BI / Power Query / SAP HANA / CONTPAQi .
- Advanced Excel skills, including macros ( required ).
- Experience within the energy sector ( preferred ).

Knowledge & Skills

- Solid understanding of accounting principles, accruals, depreciation, amortization, and financial close processes.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience preparing financial statements and supporting audit processes.
