Your mission
We are looking for a Senior Accounting Manager – AP/AR & Accounts Receivable Portfolio whose mission is to ensure the integrity, efficiency, and control of the organization’s Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and collections processes. Reporting directly to the Controller , this role is primarily responsible for ensuring that current liability and current asset flows are accurately reflected in the accounting records, while driving process automation, cycle-time reduction, and regulatory compliance. Within the context of Kavak Crédito and Kavak’s evolution into an automotive-fintech platform, this position plays a strategic role in managing collection risk, maintaining balance sheet health, and ensuring the reliability of financial reporting. The role leads a team of 3–5 people (Accounting Specialists and Senior Analysts) and works closely with Treasury, Tax, Legal, Operations, and Credit teams.
What will you do?
- Oversee the full Accounts Payable cycle, including invoice receipt, tax validation (CFDI), payment approval, and vendor reconciliation.
- Ensure timely payments to domestic and international vendors,
optimizing Days Payable Outstanding (DPO) without compromising business relationships.
- Lead the implementation and enhancement of internal controls over the P2P (Procure-to-Pay) process, in alignment with SOX and external audit requirements.
- Manage Accounts Payable reconciliations within the ERP (NetSuite), ensuring accurate allocation of expenses, cost centers, and projects.
- Oversee the customer, dealer, and counterparty invoicing and collections process, ensuring timely and accurate accounting recognition ( O2C – Order-to-Cash ).
- Establish and monitor credit and collections policies, including the estimation of doubtful accounts in accordance with NIF C-3 and internal criteria.
- Reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) through active collections strategies, aging analysis, and timely escalation of at-risk accounts.
- Manage the company’s credit and/or commercial receivables portfolio, ensuring proper recording, valuation, and presentation in the financial statements.
- Prepare periodic reports on aging, portfolio concentration, delinquency, and reserves, presenting executive-level analysis to the Controllership and CFO.
- Actively participate in internal and external audit processes (Big Four), serving as the primary point of contact for AP, AR, and accounts receivable portfolio testing.
- Lead, develop, and evaluate the AP/AR & Collections team, fostering a culture of ownership, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
- Identify and execute automation projects across AP/AR processes, including the integration of RPA, ERP, and vendor/customer portal solutions.
- Collaborate with Treasury on cash flow forecasting based on AP/AR and receivables balances, providing visibility into the Cash Conversion Cycle (CCC) .
- Design and maintain the area’s KPIs (DPO, DSO, aging buckets, delinquency rate) and present performance dashboards to senior leadership.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field . A Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting, or a CPC/CPA certification , is preferred.
- 7–10+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years leading AP/AR or Collections teams in high-growth companies, fintech, automotive, retail, or financial services environments.
- Tools and technologies: Advanced Excel skills. Strong ERP expertise (NetSuite preferred; SAP or Oracle also considered).
- Experience with automation, RPA, or BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) is preferred. Familiarity with electronic invoicing platforms and processes (SAT, CFDI 4.0).
- Strong knowledge of Mexican NIF (Mexican Financial Reporting Standards) , particularly NIF C-3 (Accounts Receivable) and NIF C-14 (Transfers) , with knowledge of IFRS 9 preferred.
- Knowledge of O2C and P2P cycles .
- Understanding of credit portfolio structures and collections risk management.
- Familiarity with SOX processes and audit controls .
- Upper-intermediate to advanced English required for interaction with external auditors and international counterparts.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage teams of 3–5 people . Highly results-oriented, analytical, and able to operate with agility in high-growth environments characterized by constant change.
