We are currently looking for an experienced Commodity Buyer – Direct Materials to join our Sourcing team in Querétaro.

Position Objective
Responsible for the regional sourcing strategy, supplier management, and commercial conditions of assigned commodities, ensuring competitive pricing, supply continuity, supplier performance, and effective support for serial production and engineering changes.

Key Responsibilities

Execute commodity strategies and sourcing initiatives aligned with regional and integral purchasing strategies.

Manage RFQs and price estimations for serial production, prototypes, and engineering changes.

Negotiate purchasing prices, commercial conditions, and supplier agreements.

Prepare and support sourcing decisions and supplier nominations.

Manage supplier contracts throughout the product lifecycle.

Identify and implement cost-saving and VAVE initiatives .

Develop resourcing and dual-sourcing strategies when required.

Monitor supplier production capacity, tooling, and equipment availability.

Support Project Buyers with pricing, sourcing status, supplier lead times, and technical information.

Coordinate technical reviews with Supplier Quality and R&D.;

Act as the first escalation level for plant-specific supply chain issues and supplier bottlenecks.

Maintain relevant supplier and material commercial data in SAP MM .

Support Supplier Quality activities,



complaint management, and supplier quality meetings.

Monitor and submit supplier performance evaluations.

Support sourcing activities related to engineering changes without affecting serial production.

Education
Bachelor's Degree in:

Industrial Engineering

Manufacturing

Business Administration

Supply Chain Management

Or a related field

Experience

Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar Purchasing or Sourcing position .

5 years of experience preferred.

Experience working with direct materials and suppliers within the automotive or manufacturing industry .
