Borg Warner Power Drive Systems is currently looking for a ‘dynamic and results oriented’ person to join as a International Trade Supervisor, is responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable Mexican and international trade regulations governing imports, exports, customs operations, IMMEX program requirements, VAT Certification, USMCA/T-MEC, and other free trade agreements. The role supervises customs compliance activities, manages relationships with customs brokers and government authorities, and ensures the company maintains operational continuity while minimizing customs and trade risks. The position plays a critical role in protecting the company’s import/export privileges, preventing regulatory violations, and supporting strategic business growth. Key responsibilities Ensure compliance with Mexican Customs Law (Ley Aduanera) and related regulations. Supervise import and export operations to ensure customs documentation accuracy and completeness. Monitor compliance with customs valuation, tariff classifications, country of origin determinations, and customs procedures. Coordinate corrective actions related to customs non-compliance findings. Maintain compliance with IMMEX Program obligations, inventory reconciliations, ensure compliance with Annex 24 and Annex 30 requirements, coordinate annual IMMEX reporting requirements and certification renewals. Ensure ongoing compliance with VAT/IEPS Certification requirements. Monitor inventory control procedures supporting VAT certification. Coordinate internal audits and government reviews. Lead compliance activities related to certification renewals. Manage USMCA (T-MEC), PROSEC, and other Free Trade Agreement compliance programs, Validate Certificates of Origin and supplier declarations. Act as primary contact for customs authorities, SAT, and other regulatory agencies. Coordinate responses to governmental requests and information requirements. Manage corrective action plans resulting from audits. Supervise customs broker performance and compliance, review customs entries and ensure timely corrections when necessary. Ensure effective communication between brokers, logistics providers, and internal departments. Identify trade compliance risks and implement mitigation strategies, maintain compliance policies, procedures, and internal control documentation. Conduct periodic trade compliance assessments and internal audits.
Track and report compliance KPIs. Lead and develop Trade Compliance Analysts and Specialists. Establish departmental goals and performance objectives. Support employee development and succession planning.
