Role Overview Own and optimize the long-tail indirect procurement practice to deliver measurable savings, compliance, and enhanced user experience through P2P platform excellence aligned to finance common architecture flows.
Core Responsibilities
1. Strategy & Process Design
Develop category strategies, preferred supplier programs, vendor management and guided buying rules for low-value/high-volume spend.
Execute spend segmentation, supplier rationalization, and catalog optimization to reduce fragmentation
Design and implement procurement policies, buying channels, approval workflows, and spend thresholds.
2. Platform Management & Automation
Manage and enhance eProcurement/S2P platforms (desired: SAP S4/HANA, ECC, Ariba, Coupa, ServiceNow among others).
Configure catalog setups, punchouts, and taxonomy design to drive platform adoption.
Identify and implement opportunities for RPA (Robotic Process Automation), marketplaces, and P2P efficiency improvements.
Identifying and implementing opportunities to automate manual workflows within the S2P process aligned to finance logic (finance module into ERPs deep comprehension is required)
Improving P2P efficiency by reducing the need for human intervention in high-volume, low-complexity transactions, including accounts payable workflows
3. Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management
Lead high-volume RFQ events and negotiate with tail-end vendors to secure best value and conditions.
Supplier onboarding, qualification, registration, activation, risk assessments, contracts
Manage long-tail vendor relationships through defined SLAs and KPIs.
4. Analytics & Governance
Build analytics dashboards to monitor maverick spend,
costs and savings tracking, and supplier performance (vendor rating)
Implement P2P compliance controls, risk screening, and ESG supplier assessments.
Ensure rigorous documentation and present performance insights and savings updates to leadership.
5. Stakeholder & Change Management
Drive cross-functional and geographical change management to ensure policy and platform adoption.
Translate complex customer requirements into prompt, accurate financial and procurement actions.
Technical Requirements
· Experience: 10+ years experience within Finance and Supply Chain (possess wide experience on Financial Systems); 5 years in procurement/sourcing; 2+ years specifically in tail spend management (Direct/Indirect: Goods and Services). In depth industry experience is required (most desired within manufacturing ecosystems), full understanding of the end-to-end Supply Chain processes.
· Systems: Hands-on expertise in P2P platforms (SAP S4/HANA, ECC, Ariba, Coupa, ServiceNow).
· Domain: Deep knowledge of Procure-To-Pay Flows (sourcing, procurement, Supplier Qualification, ESG&Risk;, Onboarding, Contracts, PR – PO conversion, approval flows, Good Receipt (GR), Invoice Digitization, Accounts Payable workflows
· Certification: Apics, SOX compliance or equivalent

Documenting fragmented, manual email-based procurement workflows and "maverick" spend patterns outside of formal controls.
Future Technology Focus “To-Be” state
Platform Optimization: Translating procurement logic into S2P platform configurations (ServiceNow, Ariba, Coupa).
Digital Transformation: Moving from manual processes to RPA, marketplaces, and automated spend segmentation.
Data-Driven Consulting: Building analytics dashboards to identify maverick spend and track real-time compliance.
