We are looking for experienced Kernel Developers to join the KernelCare Team. This role is ideal for engineers with strong C programming skills, deep knowledge of Linux and Linux kernel development, and an interest in cybersecurity.
As a Kernel Developer, you will work on developing and maintaining Linux kernel patches, with a strong focus on addressing security vulnerabilities and ensuring the stability and reliability of customer systems. You will tackle complex, low-level engineering challenges and contribute directly to solutions that help organizations keep their Linux infrastructure secure without unnecessary downtime.
As a Kernel Developer, your key responsibilities will include:
Ensuring Linux kernels are updated in a timely manner with security fixes and patches addressing known CVEs
Maintaining and supporting existing kernel functionality while contributing to the development and implementation of new features
Contributing to automation efforts when needed by developing Python and Bash scripts,



for example, to support CVE patch testing. The primary responsibility for automation remains with a dedicated team
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have:
Strong proficiency in C programming and exceptional debugging skills
Experience with Linux kernel core subsystems
Extensive experience with GDB and other debuggers
Basic understanding of kernel ABI
Proficiency in Git for development, patch management, and branch management
Exceptional problem-solving and strategic thinking skills
Strong planning, time management, decision-making, presentation, and organizational abilities
Experience automating routing tasks with AI tools
Experience with Python and shell scripting
Ability to thrive in an agile, fast-paced environment
English Upper-Intermediate (B2) or higher for clear team communication
Nice to have:
Expertise in CPU performance and power analysis
In-depth knowledge of CPU and cache architectures
Basic understanding of x86-64 Assembly (AT&T; asm)
Prior exposure to Jenkins
