About the Role & Team
IDC, a general leader in technology market intelligence, is seeking a market researcher to join our team. This role requires a mix of analytical abilities, attention to detail, proficiency in research methodologies, and excellent communication skills to convey complex information effectively.
The market researcher will play a crucial role in interpreting data, staying abreast of IT market trends and events, supporting their team through in-depth research, and collaborating to meet research objectives.
The market researcher will support the authorship and delivery of IDC’s market intelligence products and services in a rapidly evolving information technology landscape. The role will focus on utilizing the latest market research methodologies and AI tools to uncover relevant data from internal and external sources and synthesizing it into client deliverables.

What You’ll Do

- Support IDC’s market research agenda by conducting in-depth research into IT markets and their impact on industries.
- Track, monitor, and identify IT industry developments to identify and report on market shifts, patterns, and anomalies.
- Collaborate with internal technology market, industry, and primary research subject matter experts to achieve research goals and produce deliverables efficiently.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and continuous team knowledge creation and sharing.
- Synthesize raw data into information and meaningful insights and deliver tailored content components and assets that address key business requirements.
- Contribute to the creation of written research studies and presentations.
- Leverage AI by designing, testing, and continuously refining prompts and skills to augment IDC’s market intelligence production processes.




- Identify opportunities to apply AI and automation across the market intelligence production workflow to impact measurable productivity gains.

What You Bring

- Bachelor’s degree required (business, economics, management information systems, technology marketing, product management, or related field).
- 2-3 years of experience in market research, consulting, or analysis, ideally in the information technology sector, with demonstrated ability to write research content.
- Previous experience in roles such as market intelligence or competitive intelligence is preferred.
- Outstanding written and strong verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and flexibility to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, global environment.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with AI tools such as Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT, or other similar tools, including creation of skills, ongoing prompt management, and occasional use of coding assistants; as well as an understanding of the benefits and shortcomings of such tools.
- Experience with office productivity tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Intellectual curiosity, willingness to learn new market research methods and tools, an analytical mindset, and interest in technology markets and their impact across industries and use cases.
- Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
- Hybrid job, 2 days per week at the office.

- Experience working with or for technology vendors, IT distributors, or in a market research/consulting firm.
- Knowledge of business models, go-to-market strategies, and technology adoption patterns in enterprise IT.
- A problem solver with flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing and evolving market dynamics.
- Familiarity with basic scripting, low-code/no-code automation platforms, or API-based integrations.
