We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and dependable Bilingual Family-Based Immigration Legal Assistant to support a U.S.-based immigration law practice.

The adecuado candidate has direct experience handling family-based immigration matters, is comfortable managing a high-volume caseload, and can communicate professionally with clients in both English and Spanish. This role requires excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

Work Mode: Remote

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. CST (Houston, Texas time)

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and maintain an active caseload of 30+ immigration matters.
- Support attorneys with family-based immigration cases from intake through filing and follow-up.
- Communicate regularly with clients in English and Spanish regarding case updates, required documentation, appointments, and next steps.
- Prepare and draft immigration forms, applications, petitions, and supporting documentation for attorney review.
- Prepare and organize filings and supporting evidence accurately and according to established deadlines.
- Collect, review, and organize civil documents, financial documentation, relationship evidence, declarations, and other supporting materials.
- Follow up with clients regarding outstanding documentation and case requirements.
- Monitor case deadlines, USCIS notices, appointments, and attorney follow-ups.
- Maintain accurate and current information in the designated case-management system.
- Coordinate with attorneys, clients, interpreters, and external service providers when necessary.
- Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive client and case information.
- Assist with immigration habeas corpus matters when applicable.

Required Qualifications

- Previous professional experience working in U.S. immigration law.
- Direct, hands-on experience with family-based immigration matters is required.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.




- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
- Experience preparing immigration forms, applications, petitions, supporting evidence, and filings for attorney review.
- Ability to effectively manage a caseload of 30+ active matters.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and perform accurately under tight deadlines.
- Strong client-service and professional communication skills.
- Experience working with case-management systems, PDF documents, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or similar platforms.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong accountability, communication, and discipline in a remote-work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience handling a variety of family-based immigration matters.
- Experience with immigration habeas corpus matters.
- Direct experience supporting U.S.-based immigration attorneys.
- Familiarity with USCIS procedures and filing requirements.
- Experience working in a high-volume immigration law practice.
