**Position Name: Project Engineer (Packaging)**
**Location: Saltillo, MX**
Work as part of a team responsible for providing Packaging Engineering Services for various automotive, commercial, agricultural and other industry manufacturing companies. Project Engineer to work within the Industrial / Manufacturing Group (IMES) to develop production packaging and material handling systems to ensure part integrity under varying shipping and display conditions.
**Responsibilities**:
- Support packaging development and improvement projects to meet customer and regulatory needs for various projects covering production facilities (engine, transmission, general assembly, BIW) in North America.
- Champion packaging development / coordination meetings, develop and maintain open issues list(s), and support cross-functional teams that include Industrial Engineering, Ergonomics, Safety, and production operations.
- Develop returnable packaging specifications for new projects based on customer standards and system requirements.
- Support material handling, packaging development, conceptual design, feasibility and integration of current and future customer programs.
- Optimization of existing packaging to drive value, and build a cost-effective advantage as related to material handling.
- Support implementation of containerization through new vehicle launches and continuous improvement activities.
**Requirements**:




- Bachelor’s Degree in Packaging Engineering / Supply Chain Management
- Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint)
- Understanding in an automotive manufacturing setting (OEM, Tier One, etc.)
- Good oral and written communication skills enabling interaction within all levels of the organization and/or with respective customers.
- Good Analytical ability and problem-solving skillsets.
- Ability to organize, plan, and execute projects.
- Ability to effectively organize and lead meetings and workshops.
- Comfortable working with multiple customers and projects.
**Preferences**:
- Working knowledge of Stellantis / GM/Ford Standards, Processes and Plant shop floor experience.
- Experience with various type of container systems (custom racks/containers, standard containers, expendable, etc.)
- Knowledge of the supply chain system as it relates to material handling, packaging, and logistics.
- 1-5 year Packaging Engineering and/or Supply Chain Management experience.
- 1-5 year experience with production or manufacturing experience in Stamping, BIW, General Assembly, Engine or Transmission.
- Ability to travel on a Domestic or General standpoint.
**Experience**:
- Packaging: 3 years (preferred)
- Supply Chain Management: 2 years (preferred)
- Logistics: 2 years (preferred)
