Job Description:
Directs and guides the activities of mechanical and/or electromechanical products and systems. Manages and analyzes the testing and feasibility studies of mechanical products, instruments, subassemblies, and packaging for new and existing products. Directs the introduction of design changes to the manufacturing and drafting organizations. Evaluates final results of mechanical design and test to assure accomplishment of technical objectives. Ensures that proper documentation, such as test specifications and procedures, is provided to the appropriate functional area. Selects, develops, and evaluates the First level of managerial position. Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals. Works on issues of a diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors. Typically manages a department of Professional track employees but may also have support track direct or indirect reports. Typically requires 5 years of experience.
