We are now seeking a **Lead Software Engineer** to join our distributed team, which powers the Storefront Environment—enabling millions of shoppers to browse products and make purchases seamlessly across our merchants' stores.
**Responsibilities**
- Maintain and enhance services that support the Storefront Environment
- Mentor team members by removing blockers and advancing their technical skills
- Lead technical discussions around new solutions and architectures
- Define and steer the technical roadmap and evolution of the stack
- Advocate modern development practices and innovative tools
- Explore and work with new languages, tools, and technologies confidently
- Collaborate effectively with a team distributed across US and EU time zones
**Requirements**:
- BS or higher degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline
- 6+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Scala in a high-traffic production environment
- Proficiency in Scala, Node.js, and TypeScript, with additional familiarity in PHP, gRPC, or GraphQL
- Capability to contribute to the discovery, design, and implementation of projects
- Background in working within a collaborative Agile environment
- Fluent in English communication
