The Role:
Design and lead complete retail accounting operations COGS, inventory, chargebacks, vendor/dispute reconciliations, and ASC 606 revenue recognition. You will partner with US finance/operations teams, drive internal controls, and ensure audit-ready processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Architecture: Design month-end and year-end close processes across DTC, Amazon, and retail.
COGS & Inventory: Set up accounting for valuations, reserves, markdowns, shrinkage, and replenishment.
Chargebacks & Allowances: Build full dispute management workflows: posting, reconciling, reserve accounting, automating vendor-banked chargeback handlers.
Revenue Recognition (ASC 606): Implement multi-channel, multi-model compliance.
Vendor Reconciliation: Handle EDI invoices for returns, credits, rebates; manage control frameworks for vendor-owned inventory or funds.
Internal Controls:
Develop audit-grade SOPs, fraud checks, variance lookups, and control logs.
Team Leadership: Train, manage, and mentor junior offshore accounting staff.
Continuous Improvement: Recommend enhancements and scalability solutions for systems and workflows.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s in Accounting
8–12 yrs accounting experience—5+ in retail/e‑commerce with process implementation.
Deep expertise: COGS, inventory reserves, chargeback lifecycle, ASC 606, vendor EDI.
ERP proficiency (NetSuite, Intacct, Oracle), plus Excel
Exemplary analytical, communication, and virtual team leadership skills.
Experience building offshore accounting teams.
