Customer’s Global Identity & Authentication team seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join our backend service team. As a Senior Software Engineer within our service team, you will collaborate closely with product, designer and frontend teams to design and deliver scalable identity and authentication platform. You play a critical role in our core service platform which needs to be scaled and customized by different tenants.

You are a key influencer in the platform strategy and contribute significantly to team planning. You proactively improve tooling and practices in support of the platform's operational excellence. You act as the bar raiser for the team to ensure the quality and the security of the team’s deliveries and execution. You provide mentoring to other engineers.

Responsibilities:
As a Senior Software Engineer, CAPE, you will play an integral part in building the future of streaming at Customer’s products and brands:

Lead architecture design and development of the identity platform that powers the registration and authentication experiences for millions of subscribers around the world.

Leverage data to measure performance, solve real world problems, and enhance customer experience.

Collaborate with other teams and product stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of software solutions that align with business goals.

Participate and support engineering leaders in strategic planning and demonstrate good judgment in setting and delivering against strategic goals for the team.

Take full ownership of the platform, including feature scoping, design, delivery status tracking, integration with other teams, testing, operational readiness, releasing process and business metrics.

Champion best engineering practices. Set and uphold high engineering standards. Identify problems in the platform proactively, advocate and drive efforts for improvement.

influence engineers across organizations and lead by example with high quality examples of your work at the organization level.

Minimum Requirements:

5+ years of experience in software engineering designing and building highly available systems at scale for shipped consumer products or platforms.

Solid understanding of how the internet works and operates, specifically on client/server and server/server transactions with a keen knowledge of GRPC, HTTP, DNS, REST.

Experience with JavaScript, Java and Spring Boot.

Experience working with cloud technologies, especially Kubernetes, AWS and Kafka.

Experience working with common database technologies: SQL/Postgres, Dynamo, Redis

Experience working with Data structures and Algorithms (DSA)

Deep understanding of microservices design patterns, RESTful APIs, and service orchestration.

DevOps experience, where you've owned and operated the systems you've developed.

Experience in monitoring and telemetry: Telegraph, Grafana, and Prometheus.

Ability to provide periodic on-call support for critical emergent customer-facing issues.

A passion for learning, sharing knowledge, mentoring, and working in a team setting with engineers of varying levels of experience.

Seek self-improvement and adapt to suggestions and feedback.

Nice to Have:

Experience with security software engineering, especially for distributed applications.

Experience with Identity, Authentication and Authorization service platform

Hands-on experience with automating development workflow pipelines (CI/CD)

Experience with a variety of cloud services like OpenSearch, AMP, Kinesis, network, storage etc.
