RSU 16 is seeking qualified Substitute School Nurses to support our five schools located in the towns of Poland, Minot, and Mechanic Falls.
Substitute nurses play a vital role in promoting the health and safety of students and staff by providing primary health services, managing chronic and acute conditions, and responding to emergencies in the absence of the regular school nurse.QualificationsGraduate of an accredited LPN or RN programCurrent Maine LPN or RN licenseCurrent BLS certificationValid CHRC (Criminal History Record Check) with fingerprinting, as required by the Maine Department of EducationMinimum of one year of pediatric nursing experience preferred (or equivalent experience in acute care, public/community health, or home health care settings)Knowledge of childhood illnesses and chronic conditions (e.G., asthma, diabetes, seizures)Ability to perform skilled nursing tasks such as: Catheterization, Suctioning, Gastrostomy tube feedings, Insulin pump management,



Nebulizer treatmentsResponsibilitiesAdminister medications and treatments in compliance with state regulations and district policiesProvide emergency and routine health care to students, staff, and visitorsPromote student wellness and disease preventionAct as a liaison between home and school regarding student health concernsDeliver care based on 504 Plans, Individual Health Care Plans (IHCPs), and Emergency Care PlansMaintain accurate documentation in the district's electronic health record systemSupport communicable disease prevention and awareness effortsConduct health education and provide guidance to students and familiesAssist with health screenings (vision, hearing, etc.)Position DetailsAs-needed basis during the school yearWork takes place in any of the five schools across RSU 16$****** per 7 hr day#J-*****-Ljbffr
