Accounting Manager Full-Time Remote | U.S. Business Hours

About the Role We’re hiring a highly detail-oriented and execution-driven Accounting Manager to oversee financial reporting, payroll, month-end close, and core accounting operations across complex client accounts.
This is not a bookkeeping or data-entry role.
You’ll be responsible for:
maintaining financial accuracy, managing multi-entity accounting operations, ensuring compliance, and driving structured accounting execution across multiple workflows.

This role is idóneo for someone who thrives in organized environments, understands accrual accounting deeply, and takes ownership of financial operations from end to end.

What You’ll Own Month-End Close & Financial Reporting Execute accurate and timely month-end close processes

Prepare and maintain: P&L; statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports, and supporting schedules

Ensure financial reporting aligns with: GAAP standards, client expectations, and reporting deadlines

Maintain clean, audit-ready workpapers and reconciliations

Payroll & Employee Setup Process payroll accurately using: Gusto, Paylocity, ADP, or similar systems

Manage employee onboarding within payroll platforms
Ensure payroll compliance and documentation accuracy

Handle payroll adjustments, deductions, reimbursements, and reporting

Core Accounting Operations Oversee: Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger management, and reconciliations

Maintain accurate books across: multiple entities, locations, or business segments

Ensure accounting systems remain organized and error-free

Support day-to-day accounting execution with strong attention to detail

Sales Tax & Compliance Calculate and file U.S. state sales tax accurately and on time
Maintain compliance documentation and filing records
Ensure adherence to accounting policies and financial procedures

Support audits and compliance-related requests when needed

Reporting, Analysis & Forecasting Support Build and maintain custom financial reports and dashboards
Support budgeting and forecasting initiatives
Provide financial insights and variance analysis to leadership





Use Excel and reporting tools to improve visibility into financial performance

Process Improvement & Documentation Review existing accounting workflows and identify inefficiencies

Standardize processes across clients and systems

Improve operational efficiency through: automation, templates, and documentation

Maintain organized SOPs and accounting procedures

Client & Internal Coordination Communicate regularly with leadership regarding: priorities, reporting timelines, and deliverables

Support client-facing accounting communication when needed

Ensure alignment between operations, payroll, and finance workflows

✅ Required Experience & Skills Non-Negotiables 5+ years of accounting or finance experience

Strong experience with: accrual accounting, GAAP financial reporting, and month-end close
Experience managing: multi-entity, multi-location, or multi-segment accounting environments
Proficiency with: Quick Books Online, Quick Books Desktop, or Quick Books Enterprise

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including: XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Pivot Tables, Data Tables

Experience processing payroll through Gusto or similar platforms
Experience handling U.S. sales tax filings

Strong written and verbal English communication skills

⭐ Nice-to-Have Experience Net Suite experience

Familiarity with: Paylocity, ADP, Ramp, Bill.com

Exposure to time-tracking tools such as Clockify

Background in outsourced accounting firms or multi-client environments

Processing payroll and validating employee setup changes
Preparing month-end close schedules and financial reports
Reviewing AP/AR workflows and resolving discrepancies
Filing or reviewing sales tax obligations
Building custom reports for leadership visibility
Communicating with clients or internal stakeholders on financial priorities
Improving accounting workflows and documentation
