About the Role We are searching for a hands-on Engineering Technical Lead to drive software architecture, maintain high-quality engineering standards, and lead a high-performing team of 5 developers. In this role, you will design scalable web applications and robust backend systems while remaining actively involved in writing code. You will balance architectural vision with mentorship, ensuring our full-stack solutions are fast, secure, and maintainable. Work Scheme & Compensation Work Model: Hybrid in CDMX after 3–6 months (First 3–6 months are 100% Remote). Contract Type: Independent Contractor. Compensation: Paid in USD. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership & Architecture: Design, implement, and maintain scalable microservices and monolithic architectures tailored to business needs. Hands-on Development: Maintain an active coding footprint while providing daily technical direction to a team of 5 engineers. Backend & API Mastery: Enforce best practices for backend engineering, robust API design (REST/GraphQL), and security protocols (OAuth 2.0, JWT). Data Strategy: Define data persistence strategies across relational databases (PostgreSQL), NoSQL solutions (MongoDB), and high-performance caching (Redis). Code Quality & Mentorship: Drive high code standards, conduct deep-dive code reviews, identify vulnerabilities/performance bottlenecks,
and mentor team members. Infrastructure Collaboration: Partner with DevOps to optimize CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud deployments (AWS, GCP, Azure). Qualifications & Requirements Experience: 6+ years in full-stack web application development, with at least 3+ years in a technical leadership role. Tech Stack: 3+ years of deep expertise in Node.Js, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Python . Database Systems: Strong hands-on experience with SQL (PostgreSQL, BigQuery) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis). DevOps & Cloud: Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP). Track Record: Proven ability to deliver enterprise-level projects, profile slow code, and patch security vulnerabilities. Soft Skills: Strong communication, Agile execution, and pragmatic problem-solving capabilities. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
