Team Overview
The Data Acquisition Management team is responsible for ensuring the quality, consistency, completeness, and availability of data received from clients and The Data Science & Analytics team within Analytics Consulting designs and delivers advanced analytics solutions that help financial institutions, fintechs, retailers, and other credit-granting organizations improve risk management, customer acquisition, portfolio performance, collections strategies, and customer engagement. By combining credit bureau data, alternative data, analytics, and industry expertise, the team transforms insights into consulting services and scalable solutions that create measurable business value. The team plays a critical role in advancing decision intelligence across the credit ecosystem while supporting TransUnion's broader growth strategy. This role reports to the Director, Data Science & Analytics. This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
Role Overview And Core Responsibilities
- Design and deliver analytics consulting engagements that address risk management, customer acquisition, portfolio optimization, collections strategy, and customer engagement challenges.
- Develop insights and analytical solutions using credit bureau data, alternative data, client portfolio information, and market intelligence to support business decision-making.
- Partner with commercial, product, technology, and client stakeholders to define business objectives, scope analytical initiatives, and align deliverables with client outcomes. Conduct exploratory data analysis, segmentation, benchmarking, performance monitoring,
and portfolio diagnostics to identify opportunities and quantify business impact.
- Support the development, validation, implementation, and monitoring of analytical models, scores, attributes, and decision strategies while maintaining analytical rigor and governance standards.
- Communicate findings and recommendations through executive-level presentations, dashboards, reports, and business cases tailored to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Assess data quality, availability, and readiness to determine the feasibility and effectiveness of consulting engagements and analytical use cases.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to operationalize analytics solutions and support scalable deployment across clients and markets.
- Support client workshops and identify opportunities for expanded analytical engagements and product adoption.
Contribute reusable assets, methodologies, case studies, and best practices.
Required Knowledge And Experiences
- Minimum of 3 years of experience developing analytical, statistical, or machine learning models in financial services, credit risk, or consulting environments.
- Strong understanding of predictive modeling techniques and model performance evaluation.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing competing priorities.
- Hands-on experience with Python and/or R for analytics and model development.
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Economics,
Financial Engineering, Data Science, or related discipline.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of statistics, probability, and analytical methodologies.
- Advanced SQL skills working with large datasets.
- Understanding of credit risk analytics concepts and portfolio management.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks, or Dataiku.
- Experience with data visualization and business intelligence tools.
