Senior Tooling & Stamping Engineer

Salary: $50,000 - $55,000 MXN per month
Location: Nuevo León, Mexico
Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent
Work Arrangement: On-site

Collis de México is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Senior Tooling & Stamping Engineer to support new product launches, manufacturing operations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

To be considered for this role, candidates must have hands-on experience with metal stamping dies (progressive and/or non-progressive) and advanced SolidWorks proficiency. These are required qualifications. Experience limited to plastic injection molds or molding processes will not be considered equivalent.

This role is idóneo for an engineer who enjoys being on the production floor, solving technical challenges, improving tooling performance, and working closely with customers, suppliers, and manufacturing teams.

What You'll Do

New Product Introduction (NPI)

- Lead tooling development activities for new product launches.
- Review customer drawings and specifications to assess manufacturability.
- Coordinate prototype builds, die trials, and production validation activities.
- Support APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and PPAP requirements.

Tooling & Stamping Engineering

- Design, develop, validate, troubleshoot, and optimize metal stamping dies.
- Support both progressive and non-progressive stamping die applications.
- Improve tooling performance, quality, productivity, and uptime.
- Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to resolve manufacturing challenges.
- Support die maintenance, repairs, modifications, and preventive maintenance programs.




- Drive die improvements to reduce downtime and increase production efficiency.

Customer & Supplier Collaboration

- Work directly with tooling suppliers to develop and validate new die designs.
- Serve as a technical liaison regarding manufacturability, engineering changes, and tooling requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance, project timelines, and tooling costs.
- Participate in engineering reviews, technical meetings, customer visits, and audits.

Continuous Improvement

- Lead SMED, Kaizen, and process improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Analyze tooling performance and implement sustainable improvements.
- Support engineering changes and optimization of existing products and processes.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working with metal stamping dies in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience with progressive and/or non-progressive stamping dies.
- Advanced SolidWorks proficiency is required.
- Advanced AutoCAD proficiency.
- Experience designing, troubleshooting, modifying, and improving stamping dies.
- Strong knowledge of metal stamping, bending, wire forming, welding, and metal fabrication processes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T;,



and customer specifications.
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
- Project management and technical leadership experience.
- Intermediate to advanced English communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in automotive, HVAC, appliance, or industrial manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience with APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, and Control Plans.
- Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) programs.
- Experience working with international customers and suppliers.
- Working knowledge of Mastercam.
