Senior Release Engineer

Position Overview

We are looking for a Senior Release Engineer to design, build, and maintain CI/CD and release infrastructure for cloud-native applications. The role will focus on Jenkins, Kubernetes/EKS, AWS, automation, and Java/Node.js deployment pipelines.

The candidate will work closely with Software Engineering, DevOps, and Platform teams to support bi-weekly production releases, patch deployments, and reliable software delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines and release automation.
- Manage and optimize Jenkins pipelines and CI/CD workflows.
- Support microservices running on AWS and Kubernetes/EKS.
- Build and maintain deployment pipelines for Java, Node.js, and AWS Lambda applications.
- Develop automation scripts using Python and Bash.
- Troubleshoot build, deployment, and release issues across environments.
- Enable self-service deployment capabilities while maintaining governance and quality.
- Support production releases, patches, and release infrastructure.
- Collaborate with distributed Engineering, DevOps, and Platform teams.
- Monitor release metrics and continuously improve deployment reliability and efficiency.
- Participate in 24/7 on-call support for production releases and critical issues.

Required Skills

- 8+ years of Software Engineering, DevOps,



or Release Engineering experience.
- 5+ years designing and supporting enterprise CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong Jenkins experience.
- Hands-on Kubernetes, preferably AWS EKS.
- Experience with Java and Node.js application pipelines.
- Experience with AWS Lambda and AWS cloud services.
- Strong Python and Bash scripting skills.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD, build pipelines, and release automation.
- Experience with Git and modern source control workflows.
- Experience with containerized applications and microservices.
- Strong Linux troubleshooting skills.
- Agile development experience.

- Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
- GitHub Actions / GitHub Workflows
- AWS EKS, EC2, S3
- Release governance, compliance, and change management
- Datacenter-to-AWS migration experience
- Developer self-service deployment platforms
- Grafana, Datadog, or Splunk
- REST APIs and integrations with Jenkins, GitHub, Jira, and Confluence
- Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools such as ChatGPT or Claude

Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 18 months

Pay: $30.00 - $36.00 per hour
