English Teacher – Elementary School

Colegio IMI (Instituto México Inglés) | Zapopan, Jalisco

Location: Cvln. Medas 488-A, Altamira, 45160 Zapopan, Jal. Two blocks from Plaza Patria, near Bosque Los Colomos.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Position: Full-time, on-site
Salary: Starting at $12,000 MXN per month, depending on experience, English proficiency, certifications, and professional qualifications.

Bachelor’s degree in:

- Education
- Elementary Education
- Pedagogy
- Educational Sciences
- Educational Intervention
- Educational Innovation
- Foreign Languages
- English Language Teaching
- Language Teaching or a related educational field

Professional degree and valid professional license required (Título y cédula cualificado).

Candidates must also have:

- Advanced English proficiency and ability to conduct classes completely in English.
- English certification: TOEFL, Cambridge, IELTS, TKT, Teacher Training, or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of classroom experience in Elementary School.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Experience in lesson planning, assessment, and differentiated instruction.

Main Responsibilities:

- Plan and conduct Elementary School classes in English.
- Develop the four language skills: Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing.
- Strengthen grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, reading comprehension, and written communication.
- Integrate English with academic content such as Science and Social Studies through a CLIL approach.
- Design meaningful learning experiences based on challenges, inquiry, collaboration, and problem-solving.
- Apply differentiated strategies according to students’ levels and learning needs.
- Assess student progress through rubrics, portfolios, evidence, observation, and formative feedback.
- Monitor students’ reading comprehension and academic progress.
- Maintain a safe, organized, respectful, and motivating classroom environment.
- Collaborate with Academic Coordination, colleagues, and families.
- Participate in professional training, classroom observations, and continuous improvement.
