The Supplier Quality Leader is responsible for ensuring supplier quality performance by monitoring key supplier metrics, including PPMs, and managing non-conforming materials related to supplier issues. This role leads supplier quality initiatives focused on containment, problem solving, prevention, and continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with the Quality Management System. Additionally, the position oversees Supplier Quality Engineers and coordinates metrology-related activities to ensure quality standards are consistently achieved.
Key Responsibilities.
Lead supplier quality activities related to containment, corrective actions, prevention of supplier issues, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Coordinate supplier 8D corrective actions, supplier change qualifications, and new part number introductions through PPAP processes.
Manage containment actions for supplier quality issues, ensuring production priorities are met and suspect material is properly assessed and dispositioned.
Review supplier Control Plans and PFMEAs to verify that quality requirements are adequately addressed.
Conduct audits of suppliers’ Quality Management Systems.
Monitor and maintain departmental performance metrics through timely follow-up and resolution of supplier quality issues.
Manage and maintain the Supplier Quality team skills matrix.
Oversee the disposition of non-conforming raw materials in the MRB area.
Coordinate negotiations with suppliers to recover costs associated with rework or scrap resulting from supplier quality issues.
Coordinate and supervise activities and personnel within the Metrology area.
Follow up on assignments from direct management and maintain applicable procedures up to date.
Participate in EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) programs, training, events, and communications to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Report unsafe conditions, unsafe acts, incidents, injuries,
spills, fires, or illnesses to ensure immediate attention and corrective action.
Comply with all Environmental, Health, and Safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
Exercise stop-work authority when quality, safety, or environmental risks are identified.
Basic Qualifications.
Education.
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
Experience.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in Quality and/or Manufacturing environments.
Experience working with Quality Management Systems and supplier quality processes.
Experience leading supplier quality improvement and corrective action activities.
Languages.
Advanced English proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications.
Technical Knowledge.
Knowledge and experience with the 8D problem-solving methodology.
Experience using statistical analysis tools and quality methodologies.
Experience with new supplier qualification and approval processes.
Knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements and compliance standards.
Experience developing and reviewing PFMEAs and Control Plans.
Knowledge of soldering criteria and IPC standards.
Experience applying Continuous Improvement methodologies and tools.
Experience using Prism Portal for 8D and PPAP management.
Knowledge of metrology processes, calibration systems, and related activities.
Understanding of MRB processes and non-conforming material management.
Ability to analyze supplier performance metrics and drive measurable improvements.
