to lead the re-architecture of a mission-critical, multi-region payment ecosystem.This role requires a hands-on architectural leader who combines

strong technical depth in payment systems

with the ability to influence stakeholders, guide engineering teams, and drive large-scale transformation. The technology stack is adaptable — what matters most is your

proven experience designing, scaling, and modernizing enterprise-grade payment platforms

in PCI-sensitive environments.You will play a pivotal role in shaping a secure, API-first, multi-provider payment architecture that supports global operations and high-value transactions.Your ImpactLead Global Payments ArchitectureOwn the end-to-end architecture for a modern, scalable, secure payment platform supporting multiple regions and currencies. Define the target-state architecture across authorization, settlement, reconciliation, reporting, and transaction lifecycle management.Architect integrations across multiple PSPs, acquirers, and gateways. Design intelligent routing and orchestration layers that optimize performance, cost, resiliency, and regional compliance.Own Security & Compliance by DesignDefine secure handling strategies for cardholder and sensitive payment data, including tokenization and vaulting. Ensure alignment with PCI DSS, PSD2, 3DS2, and other regional regulatory requirements.Build API-First & Event-Driven ArchitecturesDesign robust APIs and microservices supporting card-present, card-not-present, B2B credit, and alternative payment flows.



Implement idempotency, retry logic, traceability, and high-availability patterns.Drive Scalability & Operational ResilienceDefine architecture patterns that support high-volume global transactions. Establish observability, monitoring, alerting, audit trails, failover strategies, and disaster recovery readiness.Provide Technical & Organizational LeadershipAct as the architectural authority across Product, Engineering, Treasury, and Operations. Lead vendor evaluations and technical due diligence. Translate business strategy and regulatory requirements into clear technical roadmaps.Skills & Experience14+ years of experience in payments, fintech, or financial infrastructure architectureProven track record redesigning or modernizing enterprise-grade global payment platformsDeep hands-on experience with PSPs, acquirers, and payment gatewaysStrong expertise in:API-driven payment flowsAuthorization, settlement, and reconciliation cyclesCard-present and card-not-present architecturesTokenization, vaulting, and PCI-compliant designExperience building multi-region, multi-currency payment systemsStrong background in event-driven systems and secure cloud architecturesDemonstrated leadership in large-scale transformation programsSet Yourself Apart WithExperience in aviation, travel, fleet, or fuel card ecosystemsMulti-country regulatory expertise across US, EU, and LATAMExperience implementing B2B credit or direct billing workflowsLeadership experience in global payment modernization initiativesThis position is available for candidate based in LATAM only
