What will you do at Ciena? (How You Will Contribute):
Test Engineering support at Ciena’s Contract Manufacturer site in Guadalajara (Mexico).
**Responsibilities**:
- Execute manufacturing test plans for routers and switches.




- Develop/Debug automated test scripts for manufacturing testing using scripting languages such as Python
- Debug and troubleshoot issues with the routers' and switches' electronic hardware that arise during manufacturing testing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product release
- Work with vendors to improve testing methodologies and tools.
- Ing test plans and test results sequences.
- Projects to optimize and/or standardize Ciena’s manufacturing test
- Interface between Ciena R&D; Engineer/Ciena Sr. Test Engineer and CM’s Test Engineers to find solutions to specific issues arising from manufacturing testing of routers and switches

Requirements(Must have)
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in manufacturing testing of telecommunications products.
- Strong coding skills with experience in scripting languages such as Python
- Strong skills in hardware debug and troubleshooting of telecommunications devices.
- Knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, Ethernet, and VLANs
- Windows/Linux general knowledge.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Knowledge of state of the art Routers and Switches architecture is highly desirable.
- Languages: Spanish, English ( Intermediate level is desirable, but we are open to hire applicants with a Basic English Level if they fully meet the above mentioned required technical skills).
