**Key Responsibilities**:
**Automation Design & Implementation**:
- Lead the design and development of automation systems to enhance manufacturing efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Develop and implement control systems, including PLC programming, robotics, and HMI/SCADA systems.
- Ensure integration of automation systems with existing processes and IT infrastructure.
**Project Management**:
- Manage end-to-end automation projects, including scope definition, resource allocation, timeline development, and budget management.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including process engineering, maintenance, and production, to ensure project alignment with overall business objectives.
- Track project progress, manage risks, and ensure timely delivery within budget constraints.
**Process Engineering**:
- Collaborate with the process engineering team to identify and implement process improvements using automation technology.
- Conduct process capability studies and leverage statistical tools to optimize processes for efficiency and quality.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, including SOPs, control plans, and technical specifications.
**Continuous Improvement**:
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for automation, optimizing existing systems, and implementing best practices.




- Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving efforts related to automation systems.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the company remains at the forefront of automation innovation.
**Technical Leadership**:
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
- Lead training sessions and workshops to enhance the automation knowledge and skills of the team.
- Represent the automation function in cross-departmental meetings and contribute to strategic planning.
**Qualifications**:
- ** Education**: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- ** Experience**:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in automation engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record in project management, with experience leading large-scale automation projects.
- Extensive experience in process engineering, including process optimization, capability studies, and statistical analysis.
- ** Technical Skills**:
- Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen Bradley, Omron), robotics, and HMI/SCADA systems.
- Strong understanding of process control, instrumentation, and automation network architectures.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
- ** Soft Skills**:
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage cross-functional teams.
**Additional Requirements**:
- Ability to travel to different plant and vendor locations globally as required.
- Flexibility to work extended hours when necessary to meet project deadlines.
