The Program Management in the electronics industry is responsible for coordinating and managing the successful introduction of new products, processes, or systems into production. This role ensures that project timelines, quality standards, and customer expectations are met during the product launch phase. The Launch Engineer Specialist serves as a liaison between design, manufacturing, and quality teams to deliver seamless, on-time product implementation while maintaining a focus on continuous improvement and efficiency.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Lead the end-to-end product launch process, from initial concept through production ramp-up.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, production, quality, supply chain, and marketing) to ensure smooth product implementation.
- Develop project timelines, budgets, and key milestones for product launches.
- **Process Development and Optimization**:
- Develop and document new manufacturing processes or optimize existing ones to support new product introductions.
- Evaluate and implement equipment requirements to support production readiness.
- Coordinate process validation, including prototype builds and pilot runs.
- **Technical Documentation**:
- Prepare launch documentation, including process flow charts, control plans, work instructions, and production layouts.
- Establish bills of materials (BOMs), assembly drawings, and other technical documentation for new products.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and company guidelines in all documentation.
- **Problem-Solving and Issue Resolution**:
- Investigate product or process design issues that arise during the pre-production or production ramp-up phases.
- Implement corrective actions and preventive measures to resolve production difficulties.
- Conduct root-cause analysis to prevent recurring issues in future product introductions.
- **Quality Assurance**:




- Collaborate with quality teams to ensure strict adherence to customer requirements during the product launch phase.
- Develop and execute quality plans, including failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), process audits, and first article inspections.
- Analyze test data and product performance to ensure compliance with design specifications.
- **Customer Relations and Support**:
- Interface with customers to ensure clear communication of design specifications, project timelines, and production progress.
- Support customer milestones such as design reviews, pre-production approvals, and final acceptance.
- **Continuous Improvement**:
- Identify and recommend opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency improvements, or automation in manufacturing processes.
- Benchmark best practices in product launches and integrate lessons learned into future projects.
**Qualifications**:
- **Education**:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial) or related technical field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- **Experience**:
- 3+ years of experience in launch engineering, product development, or process engineering in the electronics industry.
- Demonstrated success in leading or supporting product launch projects from concept to production.
- Familiarity with manufacturing techniques such as PCB assembly, SMT, and functional testing is highly desirable.
- **Technical Skills**:
- Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and bill of materials (BOM) management.
- Knowledge of quality tools (FMEA, SPC, APQP) and lean manufacturing principles.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Certification in Six Sigma, PMP, or Lean Manufacturing.
- Experience in working with cross-functional and multi-cultural teams.
- Knowledge of industry regulations (e.g., RoHS, IPC standards).
