**Description**
This position has regional responsibility for locomotive and freight car maintenance, inspection, and repair to continuously improve the availability and reliability of railroad equipment. Additionally, this position ensures that proper safety requirements are being met comply with regulatory safety rules and entities, Association of American Railroads (AAR) and Federal Railroad Association (FRA) requirements.
It requires ability to lead and develop a workforce across a region, respond to interruptions impacting service to customers, and instill a culture of continuous imporvement related to safety and service to our customers.
**Accountabilities**
- Oversees daily shop flow, and scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance.
- Leads collaboratively with other departments to meet service expectations.
- Ensures facility maintenance and cleanliness.
- Ensures commitment of FRA regulations and AAR rules within the organization.
- Plans, forecasts, and executes logistics requirements to achieve efficient production results.
- Plans repairs and calibration of shop equipment and tools.
- Coordinates training of employees.
- Promotes safety protocol for workers and attends safety meetings.
- Oversees technical documentation and ensures up to date information is available.
- Meets production targets in an efficient and safe manner.
- Understands the relevant business metrics and applies effective tactics to sustain a culture of operational effectiveness that produces teams of high performing, engaged and empowered operational leaders.

**Required**
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, preferably in a job related major field of study
- Minimum seven (7) years of relevant professional experience, including leading and managing projects or programs with outcome-focused deliverables, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum one (1) year of experience directly or indirectly leading a team
**Preferred**
- Experience with box car program maintenance.
- Experience with locomotive servicing, repair, and maintenance.
**Working Conditions**
- Shift work is an essential function of this job. Employees must have the ability and willingness to support critically important railroad operations 24 hours per day/7 days per week, working various shifts as assigned. Schedule assignments may include after-hours, weekends and holidays.
