- The Community Health unit strives to improve access, health equity and patient outcomes in a sustainable way in countries around the world. The focus of the unit is to reach underserved patient populations whose needs are not addressed through traditional healthcare delivery models.
- The Community Health Lead develops and executes innovative Community Health models that address barriers to care, improve access to quality healthcare and drive better patient outcomes in underserved populations. The role translates complex healthcare challenges into practical, scalable and financially sustainable solutions, moving seamlessly from strategy to implementation. Success requires strong public health and business acumen, stakeholder engagement and cross-functional leadership to create lasting value for patients, health systems and Novartis' mission to reimagine medicine.
**About the Role**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Program Strategy, Design & Innovation**
- Identify healthcare system barriers and unmet needs affecting access, health outcomes and continuity of care within priority populations and disease areas.
- Design and evolve Community Health initiatives that strengthen care delivery, expand access to innovation and generate measurable impact.
- Translate healthcare, stakeholder and business insights into scalable, sustainable and evidence-based intervention models.
**- Program Implementation, Performance & Evidence**
- Lead end-to-end implementation of Community Health initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, governance requirements, timelines and budgets.
- Establish implementation plans, performance indicators, monitoring frameworks and risk mitigation strategies to track progress and drive continuous improvement.
- Generate and leverage evidence,
insights and lessons learned to optimize program performance, demonstrate impact and inform scale-up decisions.
**Business Planning, Access Strategy & Sustainability**
- In close partnership with country organizations and access functions, contribute to the development of sustainable access models for Community Health initiatives, in full alignment with internal policies, industry codes and applicable regulations.
- Build business cases for Community Health initiatives, including patient reach projections, investment requirements and financial sustainability assessments.
- Define execution and scale-up models, including resource needs, implementation partners and operating models required for successful delivery.
**Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement**
- Build and maintain institutional relationships with healthcare authorities, healthcare institutions, implementing partners, NGOs, multilateral organizations and academic institutions — always under the organization's ethics, transparency and compliance standards.
- Identify opportunities to advance Community Health priorities through policy dialogue, health system strengthening, partner capabilities and collaborative initiatives.
- Coordinate and align stakeholder commitments, roles and governance structures required for successful implementation and long-term sustainability.
**Executive Communication & Leadership**
- Develop executive presentations,
business cases and decision-support materials for local, regional and general leadership forums.
- Translate complex health, access, operational and financial information into clear recommendations that support strategic, investment and implementation decisions.
- Mobilize cross-functional teams to align priorities, resolve challenges and advance initiatives across Medical, Access, Commercial, Public Affairs, Finance, Legal/ERC and Global Health.
**Essential Requirements**:
- 5+ years of experience within the pharmaceutical industry, healthcare sector, public health, healthcare consulting or related fields.
- Proven experience designing, launching and implementing healthcare access, Community Health, health system strengthening or partnership-based initiatives from concept through execution.
- Experience developing, supporting or contributing to access strategies, business cases and investment proposals, including patient reach, resource planning or sustainability assessments.
- Strong understanding of the Mexican healthcare system.
- Experience working with healthcare authorities, external partners and cross-functional teams to drive implementation and achieve agreed objectives.
- Experience preparing presentations, business cases and recommendations for senior leadership audiences.
- Fluent Spanish and English required, in both written and spoken communication.
**Desirable Requirements**:
- Experience supporting regional or multi-country initiatives.
- Experience working in low
- and middle-income countries (LMICs) or healthcare systems facing significant access and resource constraints.
