**Estimator**
**Reports To**Project Engineering & Materials Manager (MP&L;)
**Position Summary**
The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for custom door and millwork projects. This role analyzes customer specifications, drawings, and engineering requirements to determine the labor, materials, hardware, purchased components, and manufacturing costs required to fabricate each custom product. The Estimator works closely with Design, Project Management, Engineering, Purchasing, and Production to ensure quotations are technically feasible, profitable, and aligned with manufacturing capabilities.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Cost Estimating**
- Review architectural drawings, customer specifications, and project requirements.
- Determine labor hours, material requirements, hardware, purchased components, and fabrication costs for custom products.
- Develop accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) to support quotations.
- Calculate manufacturing costs using established labor standards and material pricing.
- Prepare complete and competitive quotations within required lead times.
**Technical Review**
- Analyze constructability and manufacturing feasibility.
- Identify potential design or production risks affecting cost or schedule.
- Recommend value engineering opportunities to improve cost competitiveness.
- Clarify technical questions with customers, Design, or Project Management.
**Collaboration**
- Coordinate with Design to verify specifications and product details.
- Work with MP&L; and Purchasing to validate material availability and supplier pricing.
- Support Engineering during project handoff to ensure estimate accuracy.
- Assist Project Management with customer pricing revisions and change orders.
**Cost Control & Continuous Improvement**
- Maintain labor standards and costing databases.
- Review actual project costs versus estimated costs and identify variances.
- Recommend improvements to estimating methods and cost models.




- Support continuous improvement initiatives that increase estimating accuracy.
**Documentation & Compliance**
- Maintain complete estimating documentation and quotation records.
- Ensure estimates comply with company standards and customer requirements.
- Support ISO 9001 document control and traceability requirements.
**Qualifications**
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Manufacturing, Business, or related field (preferred).
- Experience in manufacturing estimating, woodworking, millwork, cabinetry, metal fabrication, or custom products.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and architectural plans.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- ERP/MRP experience preferred (Innergy experience is an advantage).
- Strong communication and organizational skills.

**Experience**:
- 2 or more years in industrial engineering, quality, manufacturing, design or related fields.
