We are seeking a Quality Engineer to join our Mexico Plant, responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our wiper-system assembly line for truck programs. The idóneo candidate combines a structured, data-driven mindset with hands-on experience in manufacturing quality systems. This person will act as the local reference for all plant and customer quality matters, maintaining robust processes and supporting continuous improvement as production scales up.
ESSENTIAL TASKS
- Guard daily quality performance on the line, monitoring and improving FPY, scrap, rework, and defect paretos through structured problem-solving (5-Why, 8D).
- Run and sustain incoming and in-process controls (visual, dimensional, torque, functional), ensuring gages, calibration, and MSA/GRR are up to date.
- Maintain and execute Control Plans and Work Instructions handed over from Spain; manage change control in coordination with the Production Manager.
- Build and keep the PPAP dossier current; support Run@Rate rehearsals and customer PSW/liberations.
- Lead or support internal audits and readiness for ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and VDA 6.3 (training provided if needed).
- Partner with Process Engineering and Maintenance on root-cause analysis and corrective actions (4M approach: Man, Method, Machine, Material).
