Manages a large unit or several smaller units through subordinate managers who oversee units that are functionally similar. Establishes operational objectives and work plans,
and delegates assignments to subordinate managers. This role may also be appropriate when the incumbent is required to develop a new unit or operation or to substantially upgrade existing operations. Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals. Manages human, financial, and often physical resources, and develops procedures and processes to attain unit goals. Substantial involvement in developing, modifying and executing company policies that affect immediate operation(s) but which may also have company-wide effect. Operates with a larger degree of autonomy than a manager role. Represents the unit at meetings or on committees.
