Accountant 1

The Fixed Assets Accountant is responsible for reviewing and approving capital expenditures

(CAPEX) for accuracy and completeness in accordance with company policy and GAAP. This position manages full-cycle fixed asset transactional work—including capitalization, asset transfers, and retirements—requiring active communication and collaboration with plant and project contacts.

Key Responsibilities &

- Financial Reporting &
- Reconciliation: Prepare journal entries, maintain individual fixed asset roll-forward schedules, and reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts in compliance with GAAP and company guidelines. 
- CAPEX Management: Review and approve capital expenditure requests; ensure transactions meet capitalization thresholds and criteria. 
- Asset Lifecycle Processing: Execute day-to-day transactional activities including capitalization, internal transfers, disposals, and retirements. 
- Cross-Functional Communication: Partner directly with plant managers, project leads,





and department heads to verify asset status and resolve discrepancies. 
- Time Management: Multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment to meet strict

CAPEX tracking and period-end close deadlines. 
- Adaptability &
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively within the team while maintaining flexibility to adjust pace as project volumes fluctuate.

Qualifications &

- Requirements



Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. 

Experience: 0 to 2 years of experience in accounting or financial analysis. 

- Technical Skills:

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (specifically Excel and Word).
- Understanding and working knowledge of GAAP standards. 
- Soft Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
