What you’ll own

- Develop, maintain, and enhance Java-based applications and services.
- Analyze and understand existing codebases, architectures, application flows, and system dependencies.
- Design, develop, test, and deploy new features and functionality.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application defects across development, testing, and production environments.
- Investigate complex technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions.
- Refactor and improve existing code to enhance performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Identify and remediate security vulnerabilities, technical debt, and code quality findings.
- Implement fixes resulting from security scans, audits, architecture reviews, and operational incidents.
- Support production environments, troubleshoot incidents, and drive issue resolution through closure.
- Create and maintain technical documentation related to application components, integrations, and support procedures.
- Mentor junior developers and support knowledge sharing within the team.

What you bring

- 5+ years of professional experience in Java application development.
- Experience working with enterprise applications, distributed systems, and complex codebases.
- Proven experience maintaining, enhancing, and troubleshooting existing applications.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve production incidents and application defects.
- Experience delivering software solutions throughout the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical deliverables from design through implementation.

It’s a bonus if you have:

- Experience working in large-scale or enterprise environments where you’ve built or maintained systems that operate with high availability, security, and performance expectations.
- Exposure to cloud platforms and modern development practices such as CI/CD (Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery), containerization, or microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with regulated or payment-related environments where you’ve applied strong security, compliance, or industry standards in day-to-day engineering decisions.
