Amentum is seeking a Motor Vehicle Mechanic to support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repair services on various vehicles and equipment, including Non-Tactical Vehicles (NTVE), Weight Handling Equipment (WHE), Material Handling Equipment (MHE), and Other Handling Equipment (OHE), as applicable.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose mechanical issues using current technology and diagnostic procedures.
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on assigned vehicles and equipment to ensure operational readiness.




- Perform all work on WHE in compliance with NAVFAC P-307 requirements.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of new technologies, vehicle systems, and troubleshooting procedures for WHE.
- Ensure all journeyman mechanics are trained and equipped to perform maintenance and repair work for any new NTVE added throughout the contract's lifecycle.
- Execute maintenance, repair, and operational duties for War Reserve Material (WRM) vehicles and equipment per Air Force requirements.
- Provide emergency road service between 0700 and 2100 hours, seven days per week, as assigned.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities while adhering to quality and safety protocols.
