**Position Objective**:
The Operations Manager position will be heavily involved in the preparations and successful start-up of a production expansion within the plant. Post-start-up, the role is accountable for effectively operating the plant, insisting on safe and responsible operation, guarding the high quality expected by its customers, developing a high-performance staff and meeting the production and cost targets of the company.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:
- Fully involved and responsible for the successful construction, qualification, and ramp-up of a production expansion within the plant
- Ensures plant meets all regulatory requirements (safety, environmental, quality) through the development, maintenance, implementation, and documentation of plant wide systems in these areas
- Responsible for the on time, on schedule production and shipment of product as defined by supply chain
- Collaborates with the Supply Chain, Customer Service, Engineering, and Finance to ensure effective supply chain systems are in place to continuously improve service to the customer, reduce cost and increase cash flow; including maintenance of bills of material, routings and work instructions,
and optimization of production order scheduling and system transactions
- Develops and improves organizational/individual capability through the development of strong employee development plans, training plans and training matrix, succession planning, and performance coaching; responsible for maintaining a collaborative and productive relationship with the workforce
- Leads development of plant budget and standard costs
- Ensures constant management of costs to budget, ongoing cost reduction programs and proactive utilization of tiered daily management, operational excellence tools and operational metrics to drive continuous improvement at the site; ensures all levels of the organization understand/control their personal impact on the plant’s financial performance through clear expectations, setting goals, performance tracking and coaching
- Effectively communicates and motivates plant management and the workforce to achieve facility and Company goals; encourages collaboration across all functions and levels
- Responsible for the definition, justification and on time, on budget execution of plant capital projects
- Ensures facility and equipment condition is maintained and meets regulatory requirements while continuously improving to meet business/customer requirements and financial targets
- Ensures the effective operation of the warehouse and shipping areas including efficient material flow, appropriate storage conditions, managing inventories, on-time and accurate shipments to customers and attainment of other key distribution metrics
- Works collaboratively with customers, Quality, Marketing/Customer Service, logistic companies, etc. to meet service, cost, regulatory and quality expectations
- Works collaboratively with non-manufacturing functions and other network manufacturing sites on a daily basis

**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or related field of study, plus at least a minimum of 10 years manufacturing experience with two years in a management capacity; or a combination of education and experience including management experience
- Assembly experience involving effective people deployment and line balancing (highly desirable)
- Practical experience of Lean Management and continuous experience cultures
- Must have a broad knowledge of manufacturing processes, and support processes
- Experienced in utilization of data to drive both near term and strategic decision making
- Demonstrated proficiency with ERP systems, QMS systems, and MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Demonstrated ability to work within a cross-functional team and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of workforce
- Fully bilingual English-Spanish
