**About the position**
This is a locally engaged staff position at an overseas Australian Diplomatic Mission.
Under limited direction the Climate Research Officer position will support research and public diplomacy activities to amplify and report on Australia’s strategic COP31 and climate change objectives within the region. The position will deliver public diplomacy objectives including to amplify Australia’s strategic COP31 and climate change objectives. You will engage with colleagues, public officials, non-government entities, regional organisations, and stakeholders in regional countries on climate and energy transition issues. The position includes elements of research, administrative, logístical and translation support. There may be a requirement to work outside of business hours and undertake travel outside of Mexico City.
