**Transitioning from the Development Program**
Multifamily Capital Markets’ Debt and Structured Finance Analyst Development Program is committed to building future business leaders with strong commercial/multifamily real estate competencies and leadership skills that allow them to successfully drive superior business results within the organization. As Analysts progress through each rotation, they will receive career mentoring, continue to develop their skills and enhance their knowledge of Debt and Structured Finance, as well as the commercial/multifamily real estate industry as a whole. Successful Analysts will have the opportunity to transition to full-time positions at the completion of the Analyst Development Program.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES**:
The Analyst Development Program is designed to accelerate professional development by exposing program participants to the Multifamily Capital Markets businesses through a variety of critical assignments, such as:
**Production**:
- Review and analyze customer requests for both acquisition and refinance transactions
- Assess and analyze customer objectives and identify, develop and structure potential debt solutions that provide the best fit
- Analyze current and historical property operations and trends to develop underwriting assumptions for cash flow and valuation
- Conduct preliminary credit and financial analysis on borrower organizational structure and control
- Prepare preliminary transaction summary, including detailed SWOT and financial analysis,
and participate in presentation to credit teamPrepare and submit final transaction summary in accordance with respective investor (such as Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac) guidelines
**Underwriting**:
- Engage and review appraisal, environmental, property condition and zoning reports and summarize findings
- Research and analyze property market, including demand generators, demographics, competing properties and construction trends
- Complete credit analysis of proposed organizational structure, as well as financial and managerial capabilities of borrowing entity
**Asset Management**:
- Review financial statements within the assigned portfolio, provide timely reporting to investors/master servicers and senior management
- Assess and assign risk designations on loans within the assigned portfolio
- Communicate extraordinary/significant risk issues to senior management
- Prepare and recommend action plans for potential problem loans
- Recommend transfer of problem loans to Loss Mitigation group
- Monitor Borrower compliance with loan documents, and refer situations (to the loan officer) for appropriate enforcement actions when necessary
- Communicate with underwriting regarding borrower/property/market performanceAct as investor/master servicer liaison for notifications,
modifications and authorizations/special approvals (e.g. change of management, easements, condemnation, etc.)
**Trading and Business Management**:
- Analyze and interpret financial market research
- Design, develop and maintain quantitative reports on all aspects of trading, profitability and industry trends
- Create, distribute and track all internal and external post trade documentation
- Assist in the preparation of the Daily Market Update report and other market research for distribution to customers and investors
- Assist employees and clients with trade support and documentationTrack production trends and profitability
**SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**:
- Strong academic performance - minimum GPA 3.0 (4.0 scale)
- Internship/co-op experience
- Bachelor’s degree in related field of study
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well with diverse sets of situations and people
- Willingness and ability to travel when requiredDemonstrated behaviors consistent with MFCM’s short
- and long-term business needs: initiative/drive, critical/analytical thinking, effective decision-making and relationship-building skills
