**SEND Teaching Assistant**

PK Education are proud to be supporting a **vibrant and welcoming 1-form-entry primary school** in **Kirkstall** in their search for a **SEND Teaching Assistant** to start this **September** on a full-time, long-term basis. This school has a **strong sense of community**, a nurturing ethos, and a dedicated team that truly cares about the development of every child.
You ll predominantly be supporting pupils entering the new cohort in September, many of whom have **Autism**, **delayed communication and language skills**, and **social development needs**.
**Your Role**:




- Provide **1:1 or small group support** to pupils with SEND
- Support children with **communication and interaction** difficulties
- Help develop pupils **social skills** and encourage positive relationships
- Assist with **personal care** where required
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored strategies and interventions such as alternative methods of communication and visual aids
**What You ll Need**:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEND, ideally Autism, speech & language needs and behaviour that challenges
- A patient, empathetic and adaptable approach
- Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset
- A DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
