Overview

We are a fast-paced spot-buy expedited freight broker that relies on a robust carrier network across Mexico and the U.S. We’re hiring a Monterrey, Mexico-based candidate with a sales focus to grow cross-border capacity, negotiate spot rates, and ensure compliant, on-time execution for time-sensitive loads. Strong English (verbal & written) is required.

Key Responsibilities

- Prospect, qualify, and onboard carriers in Mexico and the U.S. (FTL, expedited, specialty) to build scalable, reliable capacity for spot buys.
- Actively sell loads and close spot-rate commitments through calls, messaging apps, and online platforms; negotiate rates while ensuring margin protection.
- Maintain complete carrier documentation and compliance (insurance, authority/permits, tax/registration documentation, both U.S. and Mexico).
- Monitor carrier performance (on-time pickup/delivery, claims, load acceptance) and proactively re-source capacity as needed.
- Maintain a prioritized pipeline of carriers by lane and equipment type
- Provide insights and market intelligence to Pricing and Operations teams.
- Coordinate closely with Operations for smooth cross-border operations, customs timing, and contingency coverage.
- Travel as needed to meet key carriers and support cross-border operations (frequency depends on role level).
- Utilize TMS and Excel to track KPIs, document verbal agreements, and update carrier records.

Required Qualifications

- Must be based in Monterrey, Mexico with deep knowledge of the local transportation landscape
- 2+ years of carrier sales or development experience in the freight brokerage or logistics industry,



preferably with expedited or cross-border focus.
- Bilingual — fluent in Spanish and strong English (verbal and written).
- Proven negotiation skills with a clear sales mentality; ability to quickly close spot deals while protecting margins.
- Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently across time zones (Mexico/U.S.).
- Familiarity with TMS, Google/Excel reporting, and KPI tracking.
- Valid right to work in Mexico.

Preferred Qualifications

- Established carrier relationships in Mexico and cross-border lanes.
- Experience with cross-border documentation and border operations.
- Ability to travel to the U.S. or border regions (typical travel 10–30% depending on the role).

Success Metrics / KPIs

- New qualified carriers are onboarded per month.
- Percentage of loads covered within target cost bands.
- Average negotiated margin improvement per load.
- Carrier acceptance and on-time pickup/delivery rates.
- Reduction in emergency re-buys and failed coverage events.

Base salary $50,000 MXN + variable commission based on negotiated margin, number of covered loads, or overall coverage rate. Consider a structure that incentivizes successful negotiations and capacity growth. Job Type: Full-time
