Ciudad de México

Experience Level: Director level; 12+ years in enterprise applications with 5+ years leading teams (level versátil — see Senior Manager variant)

Location: Remote (Mexico / Latin America) with monthly onsite presence in Mexico City

Employment Type: Contract-to-hire (6–12 months, then conversion); direct hire considered

Language: Fluent English (written and verbal) required; Spanish

About the Role

Our client, a global technology company, is establishing a Latin America business applications organization and is seeking a Director to lead it. Reporting directly to the executive who owns enterprise applications, you will build and lead a regional team spanning Salesforce, Workday, integration, and related platforms, and act as the primary technology partner to the Finance organization. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who speaks finance fluently, is comfortable sitting in the weeds with finance and operations teams, and can also represent the region with executive presence.

The Director path involves a rigorous selection process; candidates who are not yet director-ready but show strong growth potential may be considered for a high-ceiling Senior Manager role on the same team.

Location & Work Arrangement

This is a remote-first position open to candidates based in Mexico or elsewhere in Latin America. Candidates must be able to work onsite in Mexico City at least once per month, and to attend quarterly in-person team events there. Candidates based in Mexico (Mexico City preferred) are prioritized for roles on the full-time conversion track; candidates elsewhere in Latin America are welcome for contract engagements. Legal authorization to work in the country of residence is required.

Engagement Model The client is building a long-term Latin America engineering and applications presence, and these roles are foundational hires for that team. The preferred structure is contract-to-hire: an initial contract engagement of six to twelve months, followed by conversion to a permanent role for successful contributors.

Direct full-time placement and longer-term independent contractor arrangements can be considered case by case.

Compensation is competitive and based on seniority and skill set. Funding and headcount are approved, and start dates are immediate for candidates who are ready.

Collaboration & Communication

You will work day to day with US-based stakeholders and distributed teams in multiple regions, so fluent professional English and meaningful overlap with US business hours are required.

Key Responsibilities

- Build, lead, and develop a Latin America business applications team across Salesforce, Workday, integration (MuleSoft), and adjacent enterprise platforms, including contract-to-hire conversions and long-term team growth.
- Serve as the primary technology partner to Finance: understand close, revenue, quoting, billing, procurement, and HR/payroll processes end to end, and translate them into application roadmaps and priorities.
- Own delivery and operational health of the applications portfolio in the region: prioritization, resourcing, vendor and contractor management, SLAs, and quality of execution.
- Partner with US-based application owners, architects, and business leaders to align regional work with global roadmaps and standards.
- Represent the regional team at the executive level: status, risks, investment cases, and outcomes, communicated clearly to both technical and business audiences.
- Establish engineering and delivery practices (Agile cadence, release management, documentation, governance, security) for a newly forming team.
- Lead hiring and vetting for the regional team, setting a high bar for technical depth and collaboration.

- Foster a culture aligned with the company's values and with the regional culture, and help shape the long-term in-person presence in Mexico City.

Required Qualifications

- 12+ years in enterprise applications or business systems, including 5+ years leading teams (managers and individual contributors).
- Strong financial acumen: fluent in finance processes and terminology, with a track record of partnering closely with Finance, FP&A;, accounting, or revenue operations teams.
- Breadth across enterprise platforms such as Salesforce (including CPQ / Revenue Cloud), Workday (HCM and/or Financials), ERP (e.g., Oracle), and integration platforms (e.g., MuleSoft).
- Demonstrated experience owning sizable budgets and programs; able to articulate the revenue, budget, and user scope of systems you have managed.
- Executive presence: credible with senior business and technology leaders, with strong written and verbal communication in English.
- Proven team leadership, including building or scaling a team in a new region or function.
- Strong cultural fit for leading a Latin America-based team serving US-based stakeholders; Spanish fluency strongly preferred.
- Based in Mexico (Mexico City preferred) with ability to be onsite monthly and for quarterly events.

Nice to Have

- Direct Workday exposure (HCM, Financials, or integrations) — helpful but not required if finance and technology breadth is strong.
- Experience standing up a nearshore or regional delivery center, or converting a contractor team to full-time employees.
- Background at a global consultancy or systems integrator with large-scale finance transformation programs.

What We Look For You are equally comfortable in a finance close review and an architecture discussion. You lead through clarity and accountability, set a high bar for quality, and build teams people want to join. You can operate at the executive level while staying close enough to the work to know what is really happening.
