The level 1 welder must pass a 6G (Stick) welder qualification test. The candidate will complete a Flux Cored Arc Welding Process (FCAW) in the 6G position test. If the candidate fails the FCAW 6G test, he or she would still qualify for employment with the understanding that he or she must retest and pass the FCAW 6G test, no later than 90 days of employment. The welder should also be able to fabricate and fit complex structural assemblies such as structural members, beams and components of the mast, substructure and oilfield skid assemblies.

High school diploma or equivalent A total commitment to working safely and participating in all HSE programs. Minimum of 1 to 3 years welding experience on drilling rigs and associated equipment. Prolonged Standing and Walking: The Welder may have to stand and work in the confines of the drilling floor for a sustained period of time without a break and for a total time of up to 12 hours per work day. The employee stands and/or walks on steel decking and grating. Surfaces can be wet and/or muddy. Sitting:



The Welder may have to sit in the riding belt while suspended from the air hoist for up to 30 minutes. Bending/Stooping, Squatting, Kneeling and Crawling: The Welder will continually get in and out of the positions of bending, squatting and kneeling throughout the time he/she is involved in the job task for up to 12 hours. Sustained period of bending/stooping, squatting or kneeling of longer than 3 -5 minutes or crawling more than 4 to 6 feet without an opportunity to change position as desired will generally not occur. Overhead Work: The Welder is required to work overhead on tasks such as chipping and grinding for as long he/she can tolerate. He/she will work in these positions overhead while handling the 5 lb. grinders for up to 5 � 10 minutes at a time (or until fatigued) followed by a change in activity position. The Welder may also swing an 8 or 16 lb sledge hammer overhead for up to approximately 6 to 8 swings in succes
