2.) Overview

If you have ever looked at a set of books someone else closed and immediately spotted the three things nobody caught, this role was built for you.

This is a California-based ownership group operating a portfolio of businesses and property holdings across multiple legal entities. The day-to-day bookkeeping is already handled by someone the team trusts and values. What they are missing is the layer above it: a senior set of eyes who takes the books across the finish line, closes the month cleanly, and hands ownership reporting they can actually make decisions from.

This is a small, tight team where the person doing the work talks directly to the people who own the business. There is no layer of managers between you and the decision-makers, which means your work is seen, your judgment matters, and your reporting goes straight to the top.



It also means they need someone who owns the close without being chased for it.

3.) Key Responsibilities
- Review bookkeeping completed by the existing team and maintain accurate QuickBooks records across multiple entities
- Perform complete month-end close processes, including standard journal entries and account reconciliations
- Own financial statement reconciliations and ensure data integrity across all entities
- Prepare and review owner-level P&Ls;, property expenses, and mortgage or loan activity
- Identify and resolve missing payments, misclassified expenses, and discrepancies before they reach ownership
- Prepare comprehensive financial reporting for ownership and assist with budgeting and forecasting
- Work directly with the leadership team on review cycles and reporting timelines
