Quality Systems Sr Engineer Machining
Objective The Quality Systems Sr Engineer – Machining will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) within the machining operations. This role ensures compliance with automotive quality standards and requirements while supporting quality performance, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
We are looking for candidates with extensive experience in Quality Management Systems, strong knowledge of automotive quality standards and Core Tools, and the ability to lead audits, improvement initiatives, and cross-functional activities in a manufacturing environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with applicable automotive quality standards and requirements.
- Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, BIQ, and MSA requirements.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute internal audits, including follow-up of findings and closure of corrective actions.
- Lead quality audits and coordinate corrective actions to ensure effective and timely closure of findings.
- Apply automotive Core Tools, including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC, to support quality planning and process improvement.
- Apply problem-solving methodologies such as 8D and DMAIC to identify root causes and implement improvement actions.
- Coordinate quality improvement projects and the deployment of changes within the Quality Management System.
- Manage quality documentation and change control processes, including the use of tools for QMS administration.
- Analyze quality data and performance indicators, including PPM, customer satisfaction, audit performance, and cost of poor quality.
- Conduct risk analysis and identify opportunities for systemic improvement based on business and customer requirements.
- Coordinate Quality Management System activities across two or more plants, ensuring alignment and consistency.
- Collaborate and negotiate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective implementation of quality initiatives.
- Coordinate and provide guidance to unionized and administrative personnel involved in quality-related activities.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience responsible for the administration of a Quality Management System.
- Extensive knowledge of automotive quality standards, including IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, BIQ, and MSA.
- Lead Auditor certification and experience conducting internal audits, including planning, execution, follow-up, and closure of corrective actions.
- Strong knowledge of automotive Core Tools, including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC.
- Experience applying problem-solving methodologies such as 8D and DMAIC.
- Experience in project management and coordination of quality improvement initiatives.
- Experience with quality documentation, change control, and QMS administration tools.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with quality performance indicators, including PPM, customer satisfaction, audit performance, and cost of poor quality.
- Experience in risk analysis and systemic quality improvement.
- Experience managing Quality Management Systems across two or more plants.
- Strong negotiation and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience managing unionized and administrative personnel.
- Language: English (advanced proficiency), with the ability to interpret technical documentation and communicate with international customers and corporate teams.
