Amentum is seeking a Fire Crew Chief to support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. The Fire Crew Chief provides leadership, direction, and operational oversight to fire fighting personnel responsible for protecting life, property, and mission critical resources. The position leads fire suppression, rescue, prevention, and emergency response activities supporting structural fires, aircraft emergencies, hazardous materials incidents, and other fire related operations.
Job Responsibilities
- Serve as the lead crew member responsible for providing quality fire protection, emergency response,



and resource protection support at assigned locations.
- Lead and supervise firefighting personnel during structural, aircraft, hazardous materials, rescue, and emergency response operations.
- Perform and direct fire suppression, rescue, prevention, and emergency response activities under the guidance of senior fire officers.
- Direct and control firefoground operations, including fire attack, confinement, salvage, overhaul, ventilation, and rescue activities.
- Provide leadership during emergency incidents by evaluating conditions, identifying risks, and selecting appropriate response strategies.
- Ensure assigned firefighters, emergency vehicles, fire fighting equipment, and response systems are operational, inspected, and available for immediate deployment.
