We have an exciting opportunity for an exceptional individual to work supporting one of our clients as an Infrastructure & Systems EngineerJob SummaryThis role will suit an experienced Application/IT system administrator with experience of building and maintaining virtual system architecture for critical applications and performing upgrades of system infrastructure.
The role will involve the design, installation, qualification, and upgrade of applications and the infrastructure they are hosted on.
Knowledge of DCS and/or PLC/SCADA systems is helpful.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport design of new system infrastructure for client projectsInstall, configure and maintain new / existing systems and applicationsAssist with the implementation of new/upgraded systems and/or virtualisation.Develop and implement IT standards and procedures in line with industry trends and corporate standardsWrite, review,



and update documentation for systems.Perform Qualification testing on new / existing systemsDisaster Recovery Planning and testingKnowledge articles and standard operating procedure documentation creation/maintenancePercentage of time: 100%Requirements:Third level qualification in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experienceExcellent knowledge of Microsoft technologies including Server and Workstation Operating Systems (Server *******************, Microsoft Windows 7/10/11) with knowledge of Active Directory.Understanding of Database concepts and basic database administration activitiesExcellent knowledge of Hyper-V, VMWare, Dell VRTXKnowledgeable IT Security/cybersecurity experience essential.
Able to take scanning reports and apply the fixes/patches or manage exceptions/deviations.IT BackUp & Disaster Recovery, yearly test drive and evidence collectionKnowledge of Emerson DeltaV, PLC/SCADA, Hardware and NetworkingEssential Skills:Familiar with Validation and Quality Assurance ProcessesSupport & Troubleshooting SkillsGood Communication SkillsExcellent organisational skillsAbility to work independently and prioritise tasksAvailability to work outside office hours when the need arisesNice to Have Skills:Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experienceTravel required: NOCognizant is an equal opportunity employer.
