Site Engineer
The Site Engineer is responsible for supporting the successful execution of onsite project activities from pre-mobilization through project demobilization. This role provides technical and coordination support during installation, integration, commissioning readiness, and site closeout activities.The Site Engineer works closely with the Site Manager, Project Manager, Installation teams, Commissioning teams, Site Services, suppliers, subcontractors, and the Customer to ensure onsite activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project scope, schedule, quality, and documentation requirements.This position is a key member of the onsite project execution team and supports the coordination of Dematic teams and Customer stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
What You Will Do in This RoleSupport the review and coordination of scheduled onsite activities with the Project Manager, Site Manager/Superintendent, Installation teams, Commissioning teams, and Site Services teamAssist in the preparation, update, and control of project documentation related to onsite execution, including installation progress, safety documentation, quality records, punch lists, and daily/weekly reportsSupport pre-mobilization activities, including validation of pre-mobilization checklists and participation in project site surveysAssist with coordination of site equipment, rental equipment, tools, access requirements, and required documentationSupport the execution of project SQCDP metrics: Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and PeopleMonitor onsite installation activities to ensure alignment with drawings, specifications, standards, and project requirementsProvide technical support to installation teams during mechanical, electrical, pre-commissioning, and commissioning readiness activitiesSupport site safety requirements by participating in safety walks, toolbox talks,
regulatory checks, and verification of safe work practicesAssist in maintaining site safety documentation, daily registers, evacuation plans, and compliance recordsCoordinate with internal teams and subcontractors to support timely completion of onsite tasksSupport quality inspections, materials management, and verification of installed equipment against project specificationsAssist with material deliveries, inventory tracking, discrepancy reporting, and regular inventory auditsSupport daily coordination meetings, weekly planning sessions, and look-ahead schedulesTrack action items, open issues, constraints, and risks related to onsite execution and escalate as neededSupport onsite communication with the Customer by providing technical updates and ensuring relevant information is shared with the Site Manager and Project ManagerAssist in coordinating readiness for commissioning activities, including verification of installation completion, punch list tracking, and documentation readinessSupport customer acceptance testing activities and coordinate required technical inputsAssist in preparing customer sign-off documentation, handover packages, and onsite training coordinationSupport site demobilization activities, including return of excess materials, rental equipment, tools, and site resourcesAssist with scrap management, site cleanup, closeout documentation, and lessons learned updates
What We Are Looking ForBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Logistics, Construction Management,
Business, or related field. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal educationMinimum of 3 years of experience in site engineering, project execution, construction, industrial installation, material handling, automation, or related environmentsExperience supporting installation and commissioning activities for automated electro-mechanical systems is preferredStrong understanding of onsite construction, installation, safety, quality, and coordination processesAbility to read and interpret technical drawings, layouts, installation documentation, and project specificationsExperience working with cross-functional teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and customer representativesStrong communication, organization, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced site environment and manage multiple prioritiesKnowledge of materials tracking, inventory management, and site logistics is preferredFamiliarity with MRP/ERP systems is a plusProficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and TeamsWillingness to work onsite and travel as required by project needsPreferred QualificationsExperience in automated material handling, warehouse automation, conveyor systems, robotics, or industrial automationPrevious experience supporting commissioning or pre-commissioning activitiesKnowledge of OSHA, site safety standards, or local regulatory safety requirementsExperience with punch list management, site reporting, and customer acceptance documentationAbility to work in multicultural and cross-functional project environments
