The North America EV Thermal Management Systems Senior Buyer is a strategic buying role in support of EV transformation in the Chassis & Adaptation Purchasing group.The Buyer will have responsibility to execute the sourcing and management of the BTM commodities including: battery cooling plates, compressors and e-compressors, heat pump systems.The position will provide comprehensive oversight from beginning to end for all internal and external supplier partner activities as it relates to planning, strategy, sourcing, contract management, cost management, quality, and supply.Additional responsibility for developing and executing the commodity strategy, jointly with engineering & global Purchasing team.Regular reporting out to leadership, e.g. monthly budget status and weekly sourcing tables.
**MAIN OBJECTIVES**:**Commodity Scope**: Battery Thermal Management, Heat Pump System, CompressorsCreation, implementation, maintenance of the commodity strategy (cost and technology roadmap)Application of best practices and lessons learned throughout all planning, development, execution phasesCost Models including competitor benchmarkingSupplier Performance plans - including scope of cost, quality, supply KPI'sLead sourcing to ensure program timing and cost objectives are achievedOversee development/ execution, along with technical teams**Work hand in hand with key interface groups**: Value Optimization, Product Development, Cost Engineering, Innovation, Business Development, Manufacturing, Regulatory Compliance, Finance, Supply Chain, and Supplier OperationsDrive cost savings, commercial and technicalVolume/capacity managementDevelop sourcing roadmap for the year including new programs and market testWork with Engineering and program management to ensure the sourcing timeline is established and achievedExecute sourcing of new programs to meet cost,
timing and quality objectivesDevelop and maintain cost models including external data pointsIssue and maintain purchase order and non-standard contractsEnsure there is process for directed buy components in order to ensure the cost and terms are understood at time of sourcing and the process for ongoing management (RASIC) is definedAchieve cost savings through commercial and technical leversEnsure ongoing supply and no shortagesManage cost of deficiencies with supplier in terms of premium transportation or charge backProvides timely, relevant and actionable management reporting for commodity cost status, supplier performance, open issues and potential constraintsEnsure development activities are on track to meet vehicle SOPEnsure service / field / Mopar requirements are met through production business leverageAwareness and inclusion of all engineering changes, supplier process/performance issues, to meet program timing deliverablesManage the preparation of and presentation of commodity and supplier status**Basic Qualifications**:Bachelor degree in Business or EngineeringMinimum 8 years of related industry work experienceAbility to travel up to 20% globallyProficient in using Microsoft Office Suite SoftwareProven ability to manage multiple projects and tasks and results driven creative problem solvingStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional teamExcellent verbal and written communication skillsHigh Energy / Flexible / Adaptable / Dynamic / "can-do" attitudeProactive and collaborative approach to problem solvingKnowledge of manufacturing process expertise -- Supplier Integration Management (SIM) principles**Preferred Qualifications**:Experience in a technical or manufacturing organization**Experience with the commodities listed**: E-compressors, Heat Pumps, Battery Cooling PlatesComfortable and well-practiced in a general team matrix environment, with a focus on cross-functional, virtual team relationship buildingKnowledge of quality systems including Six Sigma, ISO/TS*****, QS-**** - FEMA - SPC & 8-D Quality Systems, APQP Process
