Functions and Responsibilities
- Promptly address any safety issues or incidents.
- Lead daily production operations.
- Ensure that the manufactured products meet the established quality requirements.
- Responsible for maintaining personnel and training plans within the business unit.
- Provide regular, timely, and specific feedback to associates.
- Provide a learning environment and challenge associates to meet higher expectations.
- Implement BD Excellence components and programs within the manufacturing unit.
- Ensure that an open flow of communication exists between production associates and management.




- Represent concerns of production associates to management as well as management concerns to production associates.
- Ensure fair and consistent application of company and departmental policies and practices.
- Work with associates to resolve employee relations issues and concerns; involves HR when necessary.
- Actively participate and support continuous improvement activities.
- Collaborate with Production Planning to establish production schedules, monitor performance versus schedule for the department.
- Track the production metrics to ensure that department goals are being met.
- Communicate the metrics and progress to associates and management.
- Train associates to be responsible for safety, quality, production, costs, cleanliness and compliance with general policies.
- Ensure that safety and quality standards are achieved and drive production performance to meet objectives and schedules.
