**GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES**:
The Manufacturing Engineer will provide information, documentation, and machine programs to facilitate smooth and accurate information flow to the production floor while also providing quality assurance support, sometimes verifying quality by measuring parts on the floor to ensure accuracy and consistency of quality. The Manufacturing Engineer will reverse engineer customer parts using various measurement equipment such as calipers and coordinate measuring arm. In addition, the engineer will provide information support for the quoting department, providing estimated material usage and cut times of parts and assemblies. The Manufacturing Engineer will be expected to communicate with customers to ensure that production has the required information.
**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Generate documentation to provide required information for production floor to produce quality, accurate parts per customer requirements
- Produce flat laser and tube laser cutting programs to facilitate parts production while maximizing material utilization and minimizing waste.
- Use CAD software (SOLIDWORKS) to validate part designs received from customers and produce part and assembly designs based on customer descriptions and requirements.
- Utilize CMM software alongside FAROArm coordinate measuring machine to reverse engineer customer parts and to measure produced parts to ensure conformance to customer requirements.
- Generate required material lists for purchasing to ensure correct material type and quantity is ordered for pending jobs.
- Provide quality assurance support, measuring produced parts to ensure conformance with customer prints and requirements.
Experiência y requisitos
**QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS**:
- The ability to work independently while closely following instructions and guidelines is essential.
- Fluent in English to communicate with customers, material suppliers and outside support services.
- Proficient with CAD software, preferably SOLIDWORKS.
- College degree in Engineering, mechanical, industrial, manufacturing or related field.
- Experienced with measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Knowledge of standard tolerances and ASME Y14.9 geometric tolerances, welding process and symbology, and standard materials and fasteners.
- Must be professional, polite, and cooperative with all other departments.
- Must be a flexible team player willing to assist in areas outside of engineering to ensure a productive work environment.
